The 4th BBMRI-LPC Forum meeting on 15-16 September 2016 in Vienna, Austria.
The fourth BBMRI-LPC Forum meeting was organized in Vienna, Austria on Thursday and Friday, September 15-16, 2016. The event was organized as part of the Europe Biobank Week (Sept 13-16, 2016), which made it possible for Forum participants to follow a wide selection of scientific sessions (at their own cost).
During the first three Biobank Forums in Graz (2013), Tallinn (2014) and Budapest (2015), we have been able to build contacts to biobank initiatives in most Eastern European countries. This year, we discussed how to continue with this network and how to develop it further as part of the BBMRI-ERIC activities.
The Forum 2016 program was designed to provide representatives of emerging biobanks from Eastern Europe and elsewhere with information on how BBMRI-ERIC can support their activities and how structural funds and the current EC funding instruments could be used to support biobanking in the Widening countries (defined in the H2020 Work Programme text). The Forum was concluded with a tour-de-table, where emerging biobank representatives were invited to give an update on biobank-related developments in their home countries.
